I was going to accompany this photo (taken in Canada) with a story about the Bible Camp I attended in Salamanca New York the summers preceeding 6th and 7th grades. It involves a particular week in July in which the national holidays of neighbouring countries occur back to back, and a room full of obnoxious, pre-pubescent, Born Agains thumping and stomping on tables shouting "U.S.A!"

Canadians just sit in front of a teepee fire (it's the hottest fire you can make!) at some dude's, uncle's cottage smoking DuMauriers and drinking a 2-4 of Molson something-something until their heads eventually slouch over onto their shoulders. And of course one or two idiots shoot off fireworks in the middle of the afternoon. Maybe I need to get around this country more but I have never witnessed a Canadian work themselves into a patriotic frenzy.

But damnit I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. Maybe tomorrow.
