I'm happy.
Listened to this while scanning some film. I must be the only person who doesn't find Elliot Smith depressing to listen to. I think that sometimes when I listen to music I hear the music and pick out some lyrics and sort of exclude the rest. So I can feel a song is hopeful even when it isn't. For example I realise that "Tomorrow Tomorrow" is kind of depressing but when I hear it I think about all the possibilities that another day brings. And I really like the line "They took your life apart and called your failures art." For some reason that sounds good in my head rather than self-deprecating.
